Wide Open Texas…Howdy!
In 2017, I had no idea what kind of journey I was about to begin. When Julie Tereshchuk took a chance on me and handed me my first assignment, covering the “25 Years and Counting” tour with Counting Crows and Live, I was equal parts thrilled and terrified. I wish I could say I knew exactly what I was doing, but truthfully, I was just trying not to sink. I was deep in unfamiliar waters, learning as I went, camera in hand and adrenaline in overdrive.
Nearly eight years later, it’s wild to look back and see how far this passion has taken me. I’ve been lucky enough to photograph some unforgettable shows, explore incredible places with my wife, and meet truly inspiring people along the way. What started as a leap into the unknown has grown into something deeply meaningful, a creative journey that’s given me a front-row seat to music, travel, and the stories that connect us all.
That’s what Wide Open Texas is all about. It’s a passion project born from the desire to capture not just the artists and concerts we love, but the places that make those moments even more special. I wanted a space to share those stories, not only mine, but also those of my friends and fellow music lovers. Yes, Texas will always be our home base and our muse, but we’ll also be shining a light on the major acts who roll through the Lone Star State, the venues that make you feel something, and the hidden gems that deserve a spotlight of their own.
We’re here to share our adventures through the lens, to tell the stories behind the music, and to celebrate the places that leave a mark on our hearts. Thanks for stopping by, we hope you find something here that inspires you, makes you smile, or maybe even gets you out on the road to make some memories of your own.
