Travel photographer rooted in Texas, blending a love for music with a passion for storytelling through images.
I had no idea what I was getting into back in 2017. When Julie Tereshchuk gave me my first assignment, covering the “25 Years and Counting” tour with Counting Crows and Live, I was excited, nervous, and completely unsure of what I was doing. I wish I could say I hit the ground running, but honestly, I was just trying to stay afloat. With my camera in hand and adrenaline pumping, I dove into unfamiliar territory and figured it out along the way.
Nearly eight years later, it’s amazing to look back and see where that leap of faith has taken me. I’ve had the chance to shoot some unforgettable shows, travel to incredible places with my wife, and meet some truly inspiring people. What started as a wild experiment has turned into a passion that’s shaped so much of my life, blending music, travel, and storytelling into one creative journey.
That’s really the heart of Wide Open Texas. It’s more than a blog, it’s a place to celebrate the artists we love, the venues that move us, and the cities and small towns that give those moments their magic. It’s about capturing the spirit of Texas and the wide world beyond it, and sharing stories—not just mine, but those of friends, fellow fans, and anyone who finds meaning in the music.
We're here to document the adventures, spotlight the places that stay with you, and tell the stories behind the songs. Thanks for stopping by, we hope something here sparks your curiosity, makes you smile, or inspires your next road trip.
